Christmas Advent

The "Christmas Advent in my village" is a manifestation of the revival of the old town in Pakostane and the worthy women with their handcrafts decor it with the brightest attire. More and more original ideas come to people's minds at Christmas time, and when it comes to decorating Christmas tree, many of them were already floating under the sea and beside it, but we remembered to let Christmas tree float with a winter waves. In addition to the "sea tree", there was a tree in front of the Church of the Ascension of the Lord. At the Christmas Market, the locals hung out with the sounds of Christmas songs and the scents of traditional Christmas delicacies. For children, cakes, cocoa and tea were prepared, and for adults the winter beverage - cooked wine. The whole event couldnot have gone on without a nice Grinch trying to steal presents and Christmas joy from the kids, but of course it didn't work. This year, Santa Claus also made the children happy and gave them presents made by the locals of Pakostane. In addition to the Christmas fair, there was traditionally a school Christmas event in the sports hall, the fourth Open Squid Championship, and in collaboration with local cafes, we had fun every weekend with many musicians; Ella, Minea, Ivana Orlic, Kuzma & Shaka Zulu, ..., and the children enjoyed creative workshops. On Christmas Eve, the young people gathered in the centre of the town and brought firewood burning in a large fire, symbolizing three olive stumps representing the Holy Trinity, which, as a living being, they addressed, prayed for, and they were sprinkled with grain and wine. After midnight mass, one of the most solemn masses of the year, characterized by the favorite, ancient tune, "All the time a year," many people were in a hurry. The family was together, and the younger ones sparkled and fired - driving evil forces - with various explosive devices.
