During Knights of Vrana Day, you have the chance to witness a real medieval naval battle. As the calm evening settles in, the Ottoman fleet of ships and sailboats slowly enters the harbor of Pakoštane, intending to take control. The locals quickly respond, defending their village with full force. Flaming arrows fly through the air, battle cries echo across the sea, cannons stand ready, and catapults launch in an effort to push the Ottomans away. History comes alive in a dramatic night that ends with the villagers’ victory celebration and fireworks, while the Ottoman fleet retreats south into the darkness.
