Vessels, lights and people

Drage is nested along the main road and lives in harmony with nature. Pebble and rocky bays and coves blessed with the shade of a dense pine forest, fig trees leaning against the stone walls of old houses, and lush yellow Spanish broom in spring make up the most beautiful picture of this place. The locals have resolutely turned to tourism, without breaking their bond to the past and tradition. A modern nautical marina, the starting point for excursions and visits to national parks in the area, contributes to the development of tourism, while the night fishing boats (svićarice) awake in the dark nights remind us of the fishing tradition. Fishing is a craft that has fed generations of Drage residents, so Drage night fishermen (svićari) and their lanterns (bumbete) are known far and wide.

Beaches in Drage

Drage is a place of magical beaches, both pebble and rocky, blessed with crystal clear sea and lush pine forests. In addition to the larger beaches (Porat, Torine, Poškaljina and Dolaška draga), there are a number of natural coves between the rocks. The Dolaška draga beach is linked with a small port with 150-year-old moorings for boats stopping in Drage. The view from the beaches extends towards a series of islets that complete the beauty of Drage.

Nature
Boats are an intimate and unbreakable bond with the sea—a gently swaying story of fish, nets, and people. Each one, even the smallest, carries a tale written by the oars and knows the way to the fishing grounds.
